“In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.” James 3:5 NLTDear Coach’s Wife,
There has been much debate about the tongue being the strongest muscle in our body. However, our tongue plays such an important role in our lives. It helps us eat, drink, and communicate. Without it, many of us would be lost in how to sustain our lives. But when it comes to speech our tongue can make wounds deeper than the longest and sharpest sword. We have all been hurt by words, by people close to us and bleacher coaches we do not even know. For me it is easy to lash out at my coach hubby, especially when he has not been home or around to help with the house or kids. It is easy to yell hateful words back to bleacher coaches who have no idea how hard our husbands have been preparing for the game/season. We must remember it takes on spark from our tongue to wound, kill or damage relationships with others. During your time of prayer today, ask God to help you speak the right words; words of healing, praise, encouragement, ones that help aling spirits and calm anxious minds. Cheers, Mrs. Coach Windon
